Our international client who are an international non-profit organisation is looking for an Data Engineer.
Responsibilities/Tasks
The Data Engineer is responsible for designing and developing interface and integration of internal and external data sources within the data warehouse (DWH) environment. The DE is expected to work with IT team members to help address DWH development and report backlog; and troubleshoot data quality issues. The DE is primarily responsible to support supply chain operations, performance management and analytics, 4PL services, and the finance & accounting teams.
The Data Engineer is also responsible for requirements clarification, supporting user acceptance testing, and release management, in collaboration with IT and other units. It is expected that the DE will manage the queue of issues requiring DWH development support dynamically, including backlog requests, new requests, and bug/service tickets to address data issues or report bugs.
Specific responsibilities:
- Works with company IT team members to address the data warehouse (DWH) development and report backlog.
- Responsible for designing and developing interfaces between data warehouse (DWH) and internal/external data sources.
- Responsible for supporting all data and report requests from company departments, including Supply Chain Operations, Performance Management and Analytics, 4PL Services, and the Finance & Accounting teams.
- Responsible for clarifying requirements, supporting user acceptance testing, and managing releases, in collaboration with IT and other units.
- Supports Product Owners to ensure that key reports and DWH designs are sufficiently updated to reflect the latest state of business processes.
- Supports the DE Lead in providing direction and support for continuous improvement of the DWH architecture, performance, and documentation, while upholding Quality standards in coordination with the Quality and Risk Division.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Applied Math, or equivalent experience. Master's degree preferred.
- 4+ years' experience with MS SQL Server and SSIS development experience.
- Good skills in writing and optimizing complex SQL.
- Good skills in data warehousing, data marts, and OLAP.
- Experience with an Agile / Kanban way of working.
- Experience with report development with Power BI and SSRS.
- Experience with DataVault.
- Experience with Azure Cloud Databases.
- Experience with BIML is an advantage.
- Experience with Jira is an advantage.
- Experience with international supply chains is an advantage.
- Excellent written and verbal (fluent) communication and interpersonal skills in English.
- Experience with successfully managing relationships with a wide variety of stakeholders in multi-cultural environments and diverse locations internationally.
