International Trader Food - English - Utrecht Area
Our client is specialized in importing several dry food commodities. Due to growing business, our client is looking for an experienced International Trader. Main goal is to find and grow business opportunities in the European market.
Responsibilities/Tasks
Your job is to increase sales by managing the accounts of existing customers, finding new customers and taking care of the relationships you already have. Therefore, it is essential that you are a keen business-relationship builder. You will analyze requests from different customers, and you will be responsible for sales negotiations. You will manage the financial and account information of customers. This role also involves travelling to meet clients and attending trade fairs.
Your day in the office involves:
- Develop new business by actively reaching out to potential clients in Europe.
- Negotiate contracts and prices.
- Build and maintain your client portfolio.
- Work closely with your colleagues from the trade and logistics departments.
- Follow and analyze the market trends.
Requirements
- Minimal HBO based on work or education in business or economics-related field
- 2-5-year experience in food trade or brokerage
- Practical and positive attitude
- Entrepreneurial and no-nonsense attitude
- Commercial and creative mind
- Strong interpersonal and social skills
- Good analytical skills
- Team player
- Result and detail-oriented
- Fluent in English (Dutch, German, and French are a plus)
- Knowledge of food, pulses, seeds or nuts is preferable
- Knowledge of a quality system such as BRC/ FSI/ ISO food safety is preferable
