General Ledger Accountant - Dutch - Amsterdam area
Our client is a leading international company specialising in FMCG industry. They are looking for a General Ledger Accountant to join their team.
The accounting team consists of 4 people, who are collectively responsible for all financial activities in BENELUX.
Responsibilities/Tasks
- Management and processing of financial transactions in the general ledger
- Executing month-end and year-end closings
- Preparing financial reports such as balance sheets and profit and loss statements
- Reconciling general ledger entries and resolving any discrepancies
- Preparing various tax returns and ensuring timely payments and compliance with tax regulations
- Supporting internal and external audits
- Identifying and implementing process improvements to increase the efficiency and accuracy of financial administration
- Collaborating with other departments to gather and analyze financial data
- Assisting with financial projects such as system implementations, process improvements, and other ad-hoc projects
Requirements
- Relevant experience in a similar role, preferably in FMCG
- A completed degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Knowledge of accounting principles and financial processes
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- A team player with a proactive attitude and able to work independently
- Good Microsoft Office skills
- Fluent in Dutch and English, knowledge of French is a plus
- Must be eligible to work in the Netherlands. No sponsorship available
