Senior Charterer | Dutch | Rotterdam

Our client is the largest cooperative chartering organisation in European inland shipping, with at least 200 vessels transporting dry cargo across Europe every day. As Senior Charterer, you'll match cargo with vessel capacity in a market shaped by water levels, weather, supply and demand, and economic and political developments.

Responsibilities/Tasks

• Keep cargo and vessel capacity optimally matched
• Stay in daily contact with members, customers and skippers
• Negotiate rates and transport arrangements
• Monitor ongoing transports and resolve bottlenecks
• Track market developments and respond quickly
• Bring ideas for improvement to the team and the cooperative

Requirements

• Solid knowledge of the inland shipping market, its key players and challenges
• Commercial mindset and strong negotiation skills
• Quick to switch between tasks while keeping the bigger picture
• Independent, yet a true team player
• Fluent Dutch
• Already living in the Netherlands with the right to work here
